In the 94th district of the Virginia House of Delegates, the Republican Yancey had a 10 vote lead over the Democratic Simonds. At the moment, they have recounted all of the precincts except absentees (and there is one sealed provisional). Simonds picked up 11 votes!
Before the election, there were 66 R and 34 D
Now, there are 49 R, 49 D, the above race and a contested race that might result in a new election (HD-28) due to 147 voters being given the wrong ballots (margin is R by 82). If it ends 50-50, power sharing will occur (split chairs on committees). Control of the House may depend on one vote.
Caution— absentees tend to need special care since they sometimes get wet….
