Roy Moore lost Alabama’s special Senate election by 20,000 votes, but he’s a giant sore loser. Moore is trying to block the certification of Democrat Doug Jones as the winner and keep Jones from being sworn in to the Senate. Moore’s evidence? Conspiracy theories and black people voting.
His complaint alleges that out-of-state residents had been allowed to vote and that election fraud experts had concluded through statistical analyses that fraud had taken place. One of the election experts Moore cites is Richard Charnin, who also posts about JFK conspiracy theories and the murder of DNC staffer, Seth Rich.
Moore's complaint also alleged "anomalous" higher voter turnout in Jefferson County, in which census data shows 43% of the population is black. He called the county's 47% voter turnout as "highly unusual" and questioned the integrity of its election results.
While Alabama’s Republican secretary of state has said he’ll investigate any evidence of fraud, he doesn't seem sympathetic to Moore’s complaint so far:
Alabama Secretary of State John Merrill told The Associated Press Wednesday evening that he has no intention of delaying the canvassing board meeting.
“It is not going to delay certification and Doug Jones will be certified (Thursday) at 1 p.m. and he will be sworn in by Vice President Pence on the third of January,” Merrill said.
Who knows, maybe Moore will hamhandedly gallop up on Sassy to try to press his racist fraud claims at that canvassing board meeting, but whatever tantrum he throws over this, his claims that he was robbed are almost as bad as his political views. (Almost. Not quite.)
