Over the weekend, Donald Trump sent a tweet that seems to confirm his own part in obstructing justice.
In just 54 seconds, Ken Dilanian, intelligence and national security reporter for NBC News, explains why this tweet is such a legal problem for Donald Trump.
As soon as Donald Trump’s team saw the epically stupid tweet and recognized Trump was now in legal jeopardy, they sprang into action, concocting a wholly unbelievable lie that Donald Trump didn’t write the tweet. They now say Trump attorney John Dowd wrote the tweet. As if that obvious lie weren’t bad enough, as you can see below, the story is now changing by the minute.
From NBC News:
Dowd told NBC News that he drafted the tweet and then sent it to White House Social Media Director Dan Scavino to publish. When asked for the original email he sent to Scavino, Dowd said he dictated it orally.
The entire staff is now in on this lie, doing everything they can to protect Donald Trump from his own big mouth. And if John Dowd did dictate that tweet, then why did he later contradict himself and say that Trump did not in fact know that Michael Flynn lied to the FBI?
Two former presidents were impeached for obstruction of justice [Correction: Nixon resigned before the House officially voted on the three articles of impeachment he faced for obstruction of justice, abuse of power, and contempt of Congress.] One tweet at a time, Donald Trump himself is making the case to impeach a third.
