Salish Sea, PNW
Our most recent boat excursion out and around Whale Rocks was on a day between storms. The light was especially beautiful that day. Winter brings wonderful skies on some days.
The Daily Bucket is a nature refuge. We amicably discuss animals, weather, climate, soil, plants, waters and note life’s patterns.
Each note is a record that we can refer to in the future as we try to understand the phenological patterns that are quietly unwinding around us. To have the Daily Bucket in your Activity Stream, visit Backyard Science’s profile page and click on Follow.

The tide was very high, which is typical in daylight hours in winter. The sealions had limited real estate on the rocks. Many were out swimming around.
It’s been a few weeks since then, time to head out again soon.

Weather’s turned cold and sky is clearing in the Northwest. Temperature today is 35°F.
