This is I believe the 5th or 6th allegation against Franken. This one from a former Democratic Congressional aide (i.e. not someone likely to have a political goal in mind with this type of accusation).
The guy is going to be radioactive in 2020 unless the Ethics investigation can categorically prove that these things didn't happen (i.e. Franken wasn't in the room, or someone else was and can rebut them). The GOP will be smart enough to put a woman forward and Franken will be toast.
Why wait until then. Let Democratic Governor Mark Dayton appoint one of the many strong Democrats in Minnesota to the seat. Then have an election next year, which we will almost surely win given then national environment and have a non-damaged incumbent running in 2020 which will be harder than 2018 in all likelihood.
Its not only the right thing to do morally, and the right thing to do given the concerns of the Democratic base over sexual harassment, but also the politically smart thing to do.
