As 2 or 3 of you know, I am blogging weekly the unprecedented and ugly, dishonest and ridiculous, abusive and harmful actions of T. However, it is imperative that we never forget he is truly a REPUBLICAN. He is REPUBLICAN PRESIDENT DONALD TRUMP. They own him, they support him, they are in lockstep with him. So what if his exposing them, exposing their hidden thoughts, makes him embarrassing and hard for Republicans to stomach? He is theirs, and he is practicing everything the Republicans think and want and legislate (if not openly preach).
Mainstream Republicans (those the media always takes seriously) are now in the Oval Office with him, in his Cabinet, and they vote for his agenda, and they speak for him.
Without further delay, here is the REPUBLICAN LEADER’s Week 3:
EVERY Republican Senator voted to confirm his disastrous unprecedented Cabinet picks (save for maybe 2 votes on Devos.) Republican AG Sessions pick for Solicitor General is (god help us all) REPUBLICAN Chuck Cooper).
Republican President Trump’s Cabinet picks and advisors are rife with Goldman Sachs billionaires, ethics trespassers, liars, donors, double-dealers, racists, and believers in blowing up the very institutions they propose to lead. In some cases, they are overt racists with a proud history of harmful hateful racist actions. In some cases, they have violated the very laws they will oversee in their Cabinet position at over 50% of their businesses. In EVERY case, they were either a Republican senator or Representative, or were supported by every one of their Republican colleagues. This is not draining the swamp. This IS the GOP swamp. It couldn’t have been more obvious in the examples Republican Senators set by leaving Sessions unconfirmed as AG, so he could still vote as a Republican Senator, for Devos. And then Republican Governor Pence (in an unprecedented move) having to break the tie to confirm Devos). It seems that T’s family and Bannon are the only outsiders. Meanwhile, Republican old guard Senate leader McConnell shut down Elizabeth Warren in defense of Trump’s agenda.
T lied to our troops that he strongly supports NATO.
T draws false equivalencies between Russia’s actions and our own, and favors Putin over US in the process. T insists that a very credible (and gaining credibility daily) dossier on his own influence by Russia is fake.
Putin demands an apology from O’Reilly(!!) because of the mere questioning of T’s ridiculous views on Russia.
T’s NSA Flynn called the Russian Ambassador and specifically undermined our President Obama’s directives on Russia, setting the stage for T’s friendly relations with Russia.
Flynn backed off a denial to an “I can’t recall”, and T claims to not know anything about the issue at all. He will look into it.
Spicer claims that the Republican President’s call with Putin was a “private call”.
The NSC is utterly politicized and directed by a white supremacist.
…..And Republicans stand by and say nothing but words of support, do nothing but clap for him, approve his cabinet picks, and defend him publicly.
T claims that we cannot be safe unless we enact his agenda; we are in imminent danger unless we go according to his plans. (Much like Bush).
T claims the courts are “so political”, because they don’t agree with him. While they are still deliberating, he calls them “disgraceful” and “anti-security”. T claims “anybody could understand” why we need his Exec Order. And says we can “never have the safety and security we need” without it.
T horrifies his own conservative Republican SCOTUS nominee, who was not, however, sickened enough to speak out publicly. T then lied that his SCOTUS nominee never said such things, even though the statements were corroborated by SCOTUS nominee’s own people! (Republicans all).
Meanwhile, T now claims that he wanted to delay the implementation of the Immigration ban for 30 days, but law enforcement talked him out of waiting! (Thus, conveniently, dishonestly, having it both ways).
Spicer admits there is no imminent threat of terrorism.
T tweets that judges have made purely political decisions, and called them out for blame in advance of any future terrorist attack. Also speaking in absolute language thusly: “Anyone who does not agree…...is…...”
Spicer claims that “anyone who questions the success” of the Yemen raid, is emboldening the enemy and denigrating a US war hero. (This is not far beyond Bush’s playbook, (“you’re either with us, or you’re with the terrorists”….and T is certainly not derided by any more than 1 or 2 current Republicans). (The only thing making this worse than typical Repub actions is the extra layer of facts that Spicer did originally say the raid was NOT a success, echoing the detractors. He quickly reversed that position.)
T claims that actual terrorist attacks have gone unreported, (and has thus set the stage for any alleged attack he wants to pull out of his orange ass at any moment). Also he repeats the utter lie about the Bowling Green massacre. (Not too far off of the color-coded threat levels that ran my NYC-life for years under Bush).
T again calls out real documented reports as fake news, while bragging about his flawed decision-making process. Conway claims that the media is covering T too much, and terror not enough. (Good ol’ Republican playbook of fear fear and more fear).
T tweets irresponsibly that Iran’s leader “better be careful” (Echoing — in its irresponsibility and recklessness — the famous Republican lines: “The bombing begins in 5 minutes” and “Bomb Bomb Bomb Bomb Bomb Iran”.) T also tweets that “McCain has been losing so long he doesn’t know how to win anymore.” If you think this is not the Republican playbook, check out what Bush’s team did to McCain in 2000, claiming he had an illegitimate black child!!
T claims he has “learned a lot in the last two weeks”. He implies that the security briefings he gets are so scary. (And yet somehow his administration did not even know that the court can see those briefings in helping them reach their decision on his Exec Order.)
Or perhaps ignorance was feigned to assist an agenda or to advance ideology, a very Republican tactic.
(Build the wall = Invade Iraq...ie: big useless boondoggle….and cash cow for a very few).
Conway lies again- about being disinvited to CNN shows.
T claims “failing” NY Times has been making up stories for years.
(All of this is simply an extension of Republican thinking of distrust of “liberal media”).
T now demanding more info on future Exec Orders before he signs them. (Thus admitting mistakes without actually admitting them).
Spicer lies that the protests going on are fake paid-for astroturf, unlike the Tea Party protests.
T threatens California with withholding of Federal $$$$ because he doesn’t like them. (Republican Executive overreach to say the least).
USDA deleted animal abuse data from their website suddenly and with no reason. Then they blamed Obama for the move. Less transparency, with no good motivation.
T tweets abusing one retailer and favoring another. Conway openly advertises for T’s daughter’s wares. Tweets came around the time of T’s security briefing, forcing Spicer to proclaim “the president did not tweet during the briefing!” Spicer claimed that Conway was “counseled” for her illegal advertisement of T’s daughter’s company. Then Spicer was slapped down for even claiming she was counseled. Thus, according to Republican President Donald Trump, Conway’s illegal and unseemly actions were totally acceptable.
Pentagon and other Fed agencies will be renting space in T’s buildings. (Not too far from Cheney and Haliburton).
T lies again about murder and crime rate in Chicago, and makes sure to blame much of it on illegal aliens.
T claims specifically that “thousands” of illegal votes were cast by people bused into New Hampshire from Massachusetts. He is of course lying, and providing no evidence, except anecdotal voter registration evidence, that happens to implicate his own Republican staff and family.
T says he wants to monitor “All White House emails”. And the unprecedented leaks and amateurish actions continue into week 4.
Donald Trump Jr (the same Skittles-boycotting asshole who told everyone to “cut up your Nordstrom credit cards!”) owned a factory in South Carolina, and sold it to his father, Republican President Donald Trump. President Trump claimed in court no relation or knowledge with the former owners, in order to avoid a costly clean-up of toxins left by those former owners, thus sticking taxpayers with the cost of the clean up. The PRESIDENT did this. THE REPUBLICAN PRESIDENT!!
And mainstream Republicans stand by and smile and enable and clap and cheer and vote for Republican President Donald Trump’s agenda!
