OK, presser was insane. But in good news this week, look at what the press and citizen activism has accomplished. To start with, meet Politico reporter Marianne LeVine. Worker- and wife-abuser Puzder withdrew as the result of lots and lots of worker protests, letters, and calls, but in the end it was the dogged work of a single young reporter at Politico, Marianne LeVine, who unearthed the video of his wife talking to Oprah Winfrey in 1990. It was that video that finally caused Congressional Invertebrates to pressure him out. The story of how she did it — which includes 57 stories about Puzder since his nomination — is worth reading.
Mike Flynn resigned not because he had colluded with Russia, or because he lied to the VP — the Trump team knew and didn't tell Pence either -- but because the NY Times and Washington Post did their jobs investigating and making public information from the CIA, FBI and other government agencies that they feared would be buried by the incoming administration.
It was the bad press and public outcry that forced the WH to ask for a resignation. POTUS spun the reports today as both "fake news" and leaks of real information (though it can't be both, buddy) and claimed that it was the "unfair" media that forced Flynn out.
Our new all-powerful Commander-in-Chief appears to think he's taking orders from the press when issuing his trademark "You're Fired" edict now. Good work everyone, and thank a reporter!
