My blood pressure is off the charts this week. I feel like I’m going to have an apoplectic attack day after day as I watch the stupidity, cronyism, lying, more stupidity and presidential vanity on display on a consistent basis. The new Secretary of Stupid, which I assume will become a new Trump department, goes to the lovely Senator of Wyoming, John Barrasso. Listen to his discussion about new efforts by the Republicans to roll back gun restrictions on Social Security disability recipients who are disabled to the point that they have lost the ability to drive cars, make certain decisions, and even need someone else to manage their affairs. AND THEY VOTED TO REPEAL IT!!!! Transcript Below (couldn’t find one from the show, so I hand typed this)
Camerota: Good to have you. Now what’s going on with gun control right now. There’s just been this measure to lift a [gun] control restriction that will now allow people with severe mental illness to get their hands on guns...how does that make sense?
Barrasso: Well, I don’t look at that, at this way, at this way at all, now I”m a strong proponent of our Second Amendment rights. You know it’s interesting this was a rule that president Obama came out with in December, long after he was a lame duck president. If this was something he was so committed to, you would’ve thought sometime in the previous eight years, uh, he might’ve come out with such a regulation—
Camerota: Well sure, but what about—
Barrasso: He made this list in December—
Camerota: But what about the substance of it and why allow—if there’s one point of agreement—bipartisan point of agreement that everyone has said from gun enthusiasts to gun control activists it’s keep guns out of the hands of the mentally ill. This sounds like it would make it easier for them to get their hands on guns.
Barrasso: Well, I don’t see it that way at all. (Of course, you don’t...because you’re a fucking idiot). I look at this from the standpoint, this has going up against Social Security and people who get Social Security checks and people who make financial decisions and is putting the Social Security Administration in a point where they would then be determining who is reported, in ways, in terms of our Second Amendment rights. (That was pretty useless nonsense)
Camerota: As I understand it, it involves 75,000 people with mental illness, so severe, that they cannot work and that they have someone else manage their Social Security benefits. How does it make sense to let them have guns? (million dollar goddamn question)
Barrasso: Well this is a new change, by President Obama (swing and a miss), a midnight regulation (after midnight regulations go wild) he made on the way out the door, it should be up to a full debate, discussion, and the House has voted on it yesterday (mind you without much debate or discussion) and voted to repeal that rule.
Camerota: If someone has a mental illness, so severe, that they cannot work, should they be able to have a gun?
Barrasso: Well the question is...is someone able to have a gun at the same time they are receiving Social Security disability benefits...(first of all, not its fucking NOT, that is not the fucking question she asked, second of all...[mind explodes])—
Camerota: ok…
Barrasso: And you can take a look at how those decisions are being made—
Camerota: Disability for a mental illness—
Barrasso: But up until last month after 7 or 8 years of President Obama’s term, it was fine. And now for him to come out with a midnight regulation at this point that maybe even members of his own party don’t support (PLEASE GOD TELL ME WHICH ONES BECAUSE THEY NEED TO GO) seems like just another thing that President Obama has done while leaving the White House to try to gum up the works, as he leaves.
Camerota: Senator, are you comfortable with somebody having a mental disability at having a gun?
Barrasso: Uh..y..y..you can take a look at what the Constitution says which is what I do. As a physician who spent lots of time working with patients with all different types of backgrounds their are clearly people who have been labeled one way or another, and I’m not comfortable taking midnight reso—recommendations by the president— (end video)
John Barrasso, he’s not sure mental illness is always diagnosed correctly. He should know, his answers today seem to display strong signs of mental illness themselves. He doesn’t seem to be able to answer questions with a logical response. His speech is slurred and disjointed. He seems to be rambling nonsensically...maybe….MAYBE he suffers from mental illness himself! (/jest)
Look, we have been calling our senators and congressman for everything else, but I think this ass clown needs to be called out pronto for his stupidity. Please give him a piece of your mind.
