Almost everyone agrees the Betsy DeVos is unqualified and inappropriate for Education. Plenty of Republican senators are getting an earful from their constituents about her. Because all 48 Dems are voting NO, they only have 2 precious NO votes to distribute to Republicans to mollify angry constituents. Those NO votes are not because those senators suddenly found a spine. They were most likely carefully apportioned by the Republican party to the senators getting the most opposition to DeVos. But there will not be a 3rd NO on DeVos. (If there is, I will take this all back)
If Democrats all stick together and vote NO on objectionable nominees, there will only be 2 possible R senators who will be allowed to vote NO. This is very little wiggle room for senators from purple states or strong opposition to a particular nominee. Some of them are really going to pay a price for having to vote YES on DeVos, believe me. If Murkowski and Collins are citing strong opposition from their more rural constituents because vouchers could seriously undermine rural school districts, you can bet that there are other Republican senators who are feeling the same heat.
Make the Republicans pay the price for voting in their terrible nominees. Force 50 of them to vote YES!
