It has been a very big week at the bigjac house.
This is the Itzl Alert Network.
(Itzl is the name of the dog in the picture.)
We publish a diary here every day,
just before midnight.
This group is here for us to check in with each other,
to let people know we are alive,
and doing OK.
We welcome every member of IAN to write diaries for the group.
Every member is an editor, so anyone can take a turn when they have something to say.
If you would like to write a diary, let us know in a comment.
This is our regular schedule:
Monday: Crimson Quillfeather, alternating with ZenTrainer,
Tuesday: ejoanna,
Wednesday: Pam from Calif
Thursday: art ah zen,
Friday: FloridaSNMOM,
Saturday: bigjacbigjacbigjac,
Sunday: loggersbrat
If you'd like to be part of the Itzl Alert Network,
please leave a comment asking to join,
or send us a message asking to join.
We'd love to have you.
The bigger our network,
the less likely someone will be stranded all alone.
Big week at the bigjac house.
Two weeks ago, we wrote what was on our minds:

We were encouraged to set up an online funding site. I chose gofundme, and set one up:

Last week, we posted our Itzl diary with a link to the gofundme:

Two days later, on Monday, the 13th of March, bfitzinAR posted a diary, after researching me by way of my profile and diary history, pointing out we, Daily Kos regulars and I, have been through a lot: the death of my first wife, Pam, the marriage to Tonia, etc.:

The response from that diary was great. The total got close to $1,000. One generous donor, who had already donated $200, donated another $120, to make the total an even $1,000.
Then, at 7 PM on Thursday, the 16th of March, weck posted a new diary, with less details about me, but with a picture of a pickle jar with some cash in it, about $25, and two pictures of kittens. We have no kittens at the bigjac house. We put chicken bones in our back yard for a very handsome calico cat, and an all black cat. Any time I step outside, to walk our little old dog, Rowdy Joe, the calico kitty appears, at some distance. So, the kittens pictures were standing in for the calico kitty and the all black kitty:

The response from that diary put us way over the top.
Maybe, after we are caught up on the house payments, and all the other bigger bills, maybe we can buy a new mattress, and new sheets. Maybe I can get some new shirts at Goodwill or DAV second hand shops. Maybe I can get new farmer style bib overalls:

Thank you, thank you, and thank you, to all who helped in any way.
Now to change the subject:
Inspired by a video my wife showed me, I wrote an alphabet poem:
Ask for something
better.
Change the way you
dream.
Every day’s a
fresh new chance to
get your slate wiped clean.
Happiness
is in your power.
Jump into your plans.
Keep your dreams alive; don’t
let them get shit-canned.
Make your plans, start
new each day;
open up your mind: it’s
possible to
question all the
reasons people find to
stop and
take a back seat, when feeling
under pressure.
Verify your place in life,
when you’re feeling lesser.
You are really not required to start a word with
“x.”
Zero is the penalty, if anybody checks.
Thanks for reading.
