Just read the announcement that Attorney General Jeff Sessions has tRump’s “ … full confidence”. So, how long before he’s asked to resign? I only ask because we all know how very loyal and honest and reliable tRump is(n’t). I seem to remember hearing this phrase just before Flynn was asked to resign as well.
Good Sense is Seldom Common
Update:
WASHINGTON, March 2 (Reuters) - U.S. Attorney General Jeff Sessions will hold a news conference at 4 p.m. ET/2100 GMT on Thursday, the Justice Department said in a statement.
Sessions is likely to be asked about revelations late Wednesday that he met with Russia's ambassador twice last year but did not disclose the contacts in Senate testimony. (Reporting by Eric Beech)
I predict that he won’t resign but will say in effect — “nothing happened”, “ … and in an excess of caution, I’ll recuse myself, even though there isn’t any need for an investigation”, and “it’s all just a misunderstanding from not understanding the context of my ‘NO’.”
Update 2
Well, he’s just now said that he is going to “… recuse himself from all investigations relating to the campaign “ and he has to go because his flight to Russia leaves shortly. Okay, that last part was my addition. The thing is, recusing himself is really pretty meaningless unless a totally INDEPENDENT (and is there really such a person) is hired and given total carte blanche to actually subpoena under oath and investigate wherever the evidence leads? Does anyone actually think that recusing himself is going to be sufficient? I don’t.
