During Donald Trump’s campaign to become the most unpopular president of the United States, he took shots at everyone. When then-San Francisco 49er quarterback Colin Kaepernick took a knee during the playing of the national anthem in protest to the injustices non-white people were experiencing in America, Trump said Kaepernick should leave the country. Colin Kaepernick is a free agent as his contract with the 49ers ended this year and he, as of yet, has not gotten a new assignment. This is a man who was in the Superbowl as a starting quarterback only a few years ago. Unpopular President Trump, instead of dealing with questions surrounding Russia, or climate change, or the economy, or healthcare, has decided to just continue to openly flaunt his abuse of power.
While talking to the crowd in Louisville, Kentucky, about the nation's urban communities, Trump swerved in midstream and cited a report that NFL owners were avoiding hiring Kaepernick because they did not want to face Trump's Twitter wrath.
"Our inner cities will find a rebirth of hope, safety and opportunity," Trump said before bringing up Kaepernick's free agency. "Your San Francisco quarterback, I'm sure nobody ever heard of him."

"It was reported that NFL owners don't want to pick him up because they don't want to get a nasty tweet from Donald Trump," he said. "Do you believe that? I just saw that. I just saw that."
That’s some weak sauce. The guy is literally the president of the United States and he’s gloating over a man of color losing out of work because he exercised his right to dissent. You can argue that Kaepernick isn’t guaranteed a job in this case by our Constitution, and you would be right. But what’s happening here is very clear and illustrates the integrity of Colin Kaepernick’s assessment of our society.
White wealthy guy in a position of power uses racism and anger to oppress both people of color and poorer white people. Hey Kentucky, how’s that Obamacare—I mean Kynect repeal—going for you?
