Simple.
Any American judge who is loyal to the Constitution and the United States would be wise to withdraw their name from consideration for the open Supreme Court seat if they were appointed by a President with such shady connections to corrupt business dealings and also extremely shady ties to a formidable foreign adversary like Russia under control of Putin.
Simple.
Gorsuch cannot prove that he would act on behalf of the American people were it to come to some sort of Supreme Court showdown over the Trump Administration’s rather frightening and extremely disturbing ties and affection for Putin and Russia.
Simple.
A smart and wise “JUDGE” would look at the current situation and step away rather than sullying his reputation by being installed by a corrupt president possibly via a rule change nullifying the filibuster rule.
Simple.
Democrats must filibuster Gorsuch, but the reality is that if this Trump-Russia Connection is as robust, deep and corrupt as it appears to be, what kind of judge could Gorsuch possibly be? What kind of American could he be?
Simple.
I don’t see a patriot in that robe if he accepts an appointment under these circumstances and I believe that that is extremely problematic. I do not see a judge who believes in the rule of law. I see an opportunist taking his shot regardless of how lawless the president who appointed him is. Again, extremely problematic, in my opinion.
Simple.
Do we not expect honorable people to turn down good offers from corrupt people because that is the lawful and right thing to do for our country? Isn’t that bedrock to our legal system and institutional functionality anymore?
Simple.
Gorsuch should withdraw his name for the Supreme Court. That is the only way that he can prove that he is loyal to his country and not solely to the Republican Party and the current President who appears to be poised to sell this country out to an adversarial foreign power — Russia.
Simple.
If Gorsuch decides to ride the corrupt clown car to get to a lifetime appointment in the Supreme Court, then I, for one, will always believe him to be corrupt and unprincipled.
