And that support ain’t coming from the Trump administration:
www.nytimes.com/…
Putin has arrested his top political enemy and put hundreds of protesters in jail. And we all know how those people will be treated.
Then there’s this milquetoast paragraph in the article:
But while less heavy-handed than in Belarus, whose Soviet-style president is often referred to as “Europe’s last dictator,” the police crackdown in Moscow could still complicate efforts by President Trump to deliver on pledges to “get along” with Mr. Putin.
Uh, right. “Complicate efforts.”
It’s past time for every single Democrat and any Republican with a shred of decency to denounce Putin’s crackdown and his regime.
This is about what America stands for in the world. And every real American (yes I’ll use that term for citizens who believe in our traditional democratic values and ideals) needs to contact their representative to take a stand against Putin.
I’ve already contacted mine — the despicable Rep. Dana Rohrabacher who loves him some Putin more than anyone in Congress:
Putin’s favorite congressman
How did Rep. Dana Rohrabacher, a protege of Reagan, become 'Putin's favorite congressman'?
GOP congressman plans Russia trip to ‘work with the Duma’
This clown needs to removed from office. He’s in my 48th district in California which voted for Hillary this election. There’s a lot of smart professionals in this district who I think would vote for an honest, thoughtful alternative to this eejit, and I think his support of the Russian dictatorship should be the top of the list of reasons to oust him in the mid-terms.
This is a democratic Republic, or so I hear. I’m not gonna let these people represent me. But it’s gotta be more than talk on a political site. It’s gotta be real-world effort in the right areas for maximum gain.
