Ever notice how much conservatives project their own fears, desires and motives onto others?
Ever notice that many cases of voter fraud involve Republicans?
There are many reasons why Republicans are pushing the idea of voter fraud- voter suppression chief among them. Projection is another. “If we do it, why sure-as-shooting them Dems are doing it bigly.”
My daughter, who lives in Urbana IL, dropped this on me today- “Hey Poppa, a Republican running for our mayor voted in the Democratic primary!”
After I finished laughing, she filled me in on the details. The Republican candidate went to vote in this week’s primary election. Since he was running unopposed, there was no Republican ballot.
So he asked for a Democratic ballot.
According to the News-Gazette in Champaign, the Republican candidate, Rex Bradfield, may have perjured himself because he signed an “application and affidavit to vote” on which he attested to belonging to the party he selected a ballot for.
Alternatively, since Illinois law allows one to switch parties, he is no longer a Republican and is ineligible to run on the Republican side.
“We are in an odd situation,” said the County Clerk.
“This is a whole new one to us,” said the States Attorney.
"If they take me off the ballot, well, that's life in the fast lane. But I'd sure be pissed," said the Republican candidate.
