It’s time to start doing some homework/getting some answers on how this line of succession thing is supposed to work.
There are two scenarios that could play out if Trump is impeached:
1) Trump is impeached, Pence becomes President and appoints a new Vice President.
How does this work? What kind of say, if any, do we get into his selection? The relatively decent Gerald Ford was forced on Nixon by a heavily Democratic House.
2) Pence is impeached too, giving us Ryan.(!)
So does Ryan get to serve out the remainder of possibly 2+ years of a term?
3) What chance, if things are worst case scenario, that the SCOTUS nullifies the election and orders a new Presidential election in 2018?
I’m only saying that because Ruth Bader Ginsburg essentially said if she had her way that is what she would do.
Thoughts and strategery welcome.
