The Guardian has an interesting Trump-Russia story today that’s well worth the read. It focuses on discussions between Trump advisers and Russian intelligence — apparently GCHQ noticed a pattern in signals intelligence quite early. Fascinating stuff.
But the kicker is an extremely juicy, if anonymous, quote at the end of the article, discussing the ongoing FBI investigation:
There are now multiple investigations going on in Washington into Trump campaign officials and Russia. They include the FBI-led counter-espionage investigation and probes by both the House and Senate intelligence committees.
[…………...]
One source suggested the official investigation was making progress. “They now have specific concrete and corroborative evidence of collusion,” the source said. “This is between people in the Trump campaign and agents of [Russian] influence relating to the use of hacked material.”
Let’s repeat that again:
specific concrete and corroborative evidence of collusion
And again, with emphasis:
specific concrete and corroborative evidence of collusion
Some skepticism might be warranted — after all this is a single anonymous source. But if this is true, then the FBI investigation has found the smoking gun, and Trump’s in for a world of trouble.
