Living in the metro Atlanta area, I see ads daily from Jon Ossoff promoting the good he will do if he is elected to Congress for the 6th Congressional District in Georgia. He keeps it focused on the issues, running spectacularly positive ads that address the needs of working people in the district. While Trump won this district only narrowly, it comprises a relatively affluent population. As such, negative commercials that coin Ossoff as an outsider, as “not one of us” pummel the airwaves. Not too soon is an article out in Salon with the title, “Jon Ossoff is doomed...,” because he is only polling at 39 percent, no where near the 50 percent he needs to avoid a runoff, and if the race goes to a runoff, he will likely not win. The thought initially was that Ossoff,
“...may become the district’s first Democratic representative in nearly four decades. But...voters in the traditionally Republican district may be waking up to the same realization in enough time to deny the resistance such a win.”
Let’s hope and pray that this does not happen. I don’t live in the district, but will encourage those I believe who do to get out and vote.
