The Washington Post had a piece up yesterday discussing Sessions’ demands to nine jurisdictions about their alleged failure to comply with federal authorities and cooperate with Agents d’immigration. One woman I know is happily signing petitions to stop Kern County from becoming a sanctuary city. I find it ironic that she is married to a man who will likely never be allowed to immigrate here because he comes from one of those places that’s often associated with the dreaded Middle East, but is not (at all) in the Middle East. But that’s another story.
One of Sessions’ points is that violent crime by immigrants (especially those pesky undocumented rascals) is greater than that committed by native born Americans. Robert Reich tells us that New York’s crime rate has dropped significantly. Yes, I know skeptics will tell us that this is ALL crime and that violent crimes have increased. I read the same statistics.
So I thought I’d use my own personal life as a small demographic to test this theory of undocumented immigrants versus American citizens and violent crimes. (Mind you, none of this is legit because I’m Canadian even though I’ve lived in the US for over fifty years.)
My fiancé' Endre K. Szatmari ~ Murdered by a drunk driver (white, rich American woman) named Deborah Eoff on September 4, 1982.
A young Hispanic-American teenager Zia Hoya (age 16) ~ Murdered by a hit and run drunk driver who covered it up for a year with her daddy's help. Heather Marie Brents and Russell Steinecker. (Both Americans although she is half Filipino.)
Former friend/police officer; multiple counts of possession and distribution of child pornography. White American male. Randal Mason Young.
The man who molested me when I was a child; Mr. White. A white American male. (I was six or seven. I didn't egg him on, honest.) (That’s sarcasm, just in case the font doesn’t change.)
The guy who sexually assaulted me during a belly dance show. A white American male. (Okay, so maybe I deserved this one, since it was at a roadhouse near an Air Force base.) (Also sarcasm. Sheesh, this is as bad as trigger warnings.)
Former co-worker, attempted murder ~ White American male. Tim something. Served five years. I thought he was nice, but he had a really bad temper and walked off the job. Huh.
A former client whose throat was slit by their former spouse ~ Spouse was Mexican and has since been deported after serving time for attempted murder.
Former client; attempted murder ~ White American male. Actually, a really nice guy who told me that in the wrong (right?) situation anyone is capable of trying kill someone.
Former client; multiple counts of child molestation ~ White American male. Serving a very long sentence.
Nine felony crimes. Two murders via drunk drivers, five sex crimes, three attempted murders. Thirteen felonies if you count a case I can't talk about, yet only one was committed by an immigrant.
Wait, two immigrant crimes. I interrupted a kid hot wiring my car when I was 25 or so. He was Hispanic, but he took off too fast for me to ask if he was here legally.
Wait. Five immigrant crimes, but these next three are white Canadians so they probably don't count. The mother who molested me when I was a child. The brother who tried it too, and the father who beat the crap out of me.
That doesn't even begin to take into account all the sexual assaults over the years that were over my clothing (white guys), one physical assault while I was at work (black guy (Vernard something)), and two serious domestic violence assaults, both white guys. I will say that an equal number of Whites and Hispanics stopped and jacked off in front of me over the years when I was walking to work or putting groceries in my car. I'm sure that last bit will make some politician somewhere shout that I’ve proven his point.
(How the hell do you get spaces between your damned paragraphs on here?)
