Thousands of Nashvillians came out in support of science today. The rally and march were organized by our local groups who did a fantastic job putting it all together. Many in our community came through before deadline and donated what they could to make this march happen, pay for the road closures, medical support and so on.
We've had some stormy and rainy weather which fortunately paused enough to finish the rally before getting drenched in Tennessee April rain. The rainstorm and accompanying thunder restarted as thousands of protesters marched through the streets of downtown Nashville. It was glorious, the spirits were high, the chants were loud and there was a lot of unity.
This was a peaceful event that was attended by our local, state and US officials. The resistance is strong in Nashville!
Our local newspaper has a report now
and very short video.
