Unless you reside in a federal penitentiary, Donald Trump, our Criminal-In-Chief, has probably broken more laws than anyone you know. He has been involved in over 4,000 lawsuits. Yet unlike some poor bastard sitting in an 8’x8’ cell because he was convicted of possessing a small amount of marijuana, or some other victimless crime, Donnie Small Hands spends his days in the comfort of oval office. That is when he’s not on some exotic golf course. Forget John Gotti, Trump is the real “Teflon Don.”
Let’s talk about some of Trump’s victims. Their numbers so large, cases have to be settled as class action suits like the Trump University fraud case Trump settled for twenty-five million dollars. Real people put their trust, future and sometimes more than $30,000 to participate in the seminars that falsely promised they would learn Trump's personal real estate tricks by Trump’s had hand-picked seminar leaders. Seems twenty-five million dollars works as a virtual “get out of jail” card.
For those who voted for Trump, let me inform you that sexual assault is not only immoral, it’s a crime, one that our self-proclaimed pussy-grabbing president has been accused of by numerous women. A dozen women accused Trump of non-consensual kissing, or non-consensual groping of breasts, buttocks and genitalia. Three other women filed lawsuits that were eventually withdrawn and/or settled. As Cyndi Lauper sang, “Money changes everything.”
Time will tell (if the Republicans allow it) if Trump colluded with Putin in swaying the election in Trump’s favor. At this point there are many dots that if traced properly, will could draw a pretty damaging picture of a treasonous Trump.
What I think would be a more easily provable crime (and one that we don’t have to depend on the Republican led congress to investigate) would be Trump’s multiple obvious violations of the emoluments clause.
While the chants of “Lock Her Up” still echo, many Americans and virtually all Republican leaders are incredibly willing to overlook Trump’s apparent criminal conduct. We have in fact rewarded his bad behavior with the presidency. Who says crime doesn’t pay? Not Trump. Not yet.
