WTF, Burr? 'Burden' is on NYT to disclose Comey memo. Why don't you #DoYourJob

The New York Times breaks a story about James Comey writing a memo after Donald Trump said something stupid/illegal to him and here's GOP Sen. Richard Burr's response:

"I think the burden is on the New York Times—if they're reporting it and they've got somebody who's got the document—they need to get the document and get it released."

Are you effing joking? You're running the Senate Intelligence Committee. You have fucking subpoena power and the document isn't even classified, according to the Times. 

The New York Times has not viewed a copy of the memo, which is unclassified, but one of Mr. Comey’s associates read parts of the memo to a Times reporter.

Good lord, aren't Republicans going to do anything at all? Nothing? Reporters have to break the stories and then make all the documents public too, apparently. Republicans, who are running the whole show, just can't be bothered/trusted to do anything. 

Legally, the burden of proof is on the person in possession of the memo. The government has the memo and therefore the burden of proof is on the government. Meaning, step up, Burr.

I mean, that is just laughable. Burr is supposedly running the most credible investigation but he can’t demand the memo and send a page over to get it??
