Rachel Maddow reports exclusive breaking news that NBC News has learned that federal investigators have subpoenaed records related to a $3.5 million dollar loan taken out by former Donald Trump campaign manager Paul Manafort last year.
The company that loaned Paul the “just go away” money, is called Spruce Capital — and they have decline to comment on the matter. Spruce Capital was co-founded by Joshua Crane, who has partnered with Donald Trump on real-estate deals.
Spruce Capital is also partially funded by a Ukrainian-American real-estate magnate Alexander Rovt, who tried to donate $10,000 to Trump’s presidential campaign on Election Day but had all but the legal maximum of $2,700 returned.
WSJ reported that the Justice Dept was looking into Manaforts banking records. [...] They’ve requested records from Citizens Financial Group Inc. which gave Manafort a $2.7 million loan last year.
