During a recent interview on the Broadway Channel with Paul Wontorek, stage legend and current star of War Paint, Patti LuPone, held absolutely nothing back when referring to about Donald Trump.
Here is the video text with the ‘*’ symbolizing a BEEP. LuPone begins...
“He’s a f*cking, ass, mother f*cking asshole.
He’s a f*cking nut and he should be… He's certifiably insane and he has compromised this country, and it’s tantamount to treason, what he just did. WHY are we NOT doing anything about it?
Why is it taking so long? What the f*ck is going on in this country?”
Here is the 22-second Twitter video of Friday’s interview below—posted by Yashar. (Click on the blue circle with the white arrow.)
We’re right there with you, Patti.
Sometimes, it feels good to hear someone say out loud — what you’d like scream on top of a mountain. LuPone veraciously expressed how many Americans feel on a regular basis these days (as well as many around the world). We can’t believe it either. And yes, it’s taking way the fuck too long.
Here’s to Patti LuPone’s forth-righteousness in smacking down Trump publicly, on air. It takes courage for entertainers to take a political stand knowing they will lose a portion, perhaps half or more of their fans, by taking sides. In this case there’s a good chance LuPone will easily gain an even bigger following.
For those who might not be as familiar with the feisty LuPone, here is a sample of Patti, just as vivacious, singing “Don’t Cry For Me Argentina” from her first big Broadway hit, Evita in 1980.
