Wednesday, two advertisers announced they were jumping off the Hannity bandwagon and would no longer be advertising on the “Hannity” show on Fox News. By sunup today, that number has grown to seven advertisers abruptly ending their relationship for the Fox News media darling. Like his pal and former colleague Bill O’Reilly, Hannity is suddenly taking a “vacation” as the list of fleeing advertisers grows. From Philly.com:
The Five host Kimberly Guilfoyle, who has confirmed speaking to the White House about potentially replacing press secretary Sean Spicer, will be filling in on Hannity on Thursday and Friday. Hannity announced on Twitter the vacation was his annual Memorial Day getaway.
"Like the rest of the country, Sean Hannity is taking a vacation for Memorial Day weekend and will be back on Tuesday," Fox News said in a statement. "Those who suggest otherwise are going to look foolish.”
Fox News is still supporting Sean Hannity while he promotes a hurtful, downright diabolical, unproven conspiracy theory about a murdered DNC staffer and we’re the ones looking foolish? In April, Bill O’Reilly took a sudden, previously unannounced vacation as advertisers were running as fast as the could from the serial sexual harasser. He did not return to the O’Reilly Factor set as Fox News executives finally pulled their heads out of their asses and parted ways with O’Reilly. Only two weeks later, another Fox News host, Bill O’Reilly protege Jesse Watters, also took an previously unannounced, surprise vacation after he made a lewd sexual inneundo about Ivanka Trump on live television. Unfortunately, he did return to his job.
Will Hannity return? Probably. Will he lay off the conspiracy theory and leave the Rich family alone? Perhaps. In the meantime, keep up the pressure on advertisers. You can find the complete list at Media Matters. For now, from all of us to you, Sean Hannity:
