Of all the candidates for US President over the past 20 years on the GOP side, there is but one who I think would have done the right thing for the USA, was not just in it for himself. This is despite the nomination for VP of Sarah “I can see Russia from my house” Palin.
There is none of the off the scale destructiveness aimed at the foundations of the USA evident in those from Team Treason.
Which is why this interview with John McCain which only just aired on Australian TV was one I went out of my way to watch. I’ll post the transcript here when it becomes available as he does say some interesting things. These are possibly not cutting through in the US with everything that’s going on with the Russia story playing out. Lost in the fog of almost daily one-upmanship on the preceding days development in pure brazeness.
Transcript will be posted here if I don’t get back to it.
"I think ISIS can do terrible things," he said. "But it's the Russians who tried to destroy the fundamental of democracy and that is to change the outcome of an American election.”
On taking action over election inteference :
"We have done nothing since the election last November to respond to Vladimir Putin's attempt to change the outcome of our elections. So, way to go Vladimir. We haven't responded at all," he said.
"Hopefully when we get back from recess the Senate will enact sanctions on Russia."
On Trump & the Russian interference
"I don't think there's any doubt that this FBI issue and the whole issue of the Russians, it's a scandal of significant proportions and it's going to be with us for quite a while.
On Kushner and those backchannels
"I don't like it, I just don't."
"I know some administration officials are saying this is standard procedure. I don't think it's standard procedure prior to the inauguration of the President of the United States by someone who is not in an appointed position.
Yep...please see below...
"This is becoming more and more bizarre, in fact you can't make it up."
