May 29th, 1917 John Fitzgerald Kennedy was born in Brookline/Boston, Massachusetts. Today, May 29th, 2017 marks the one hundredth anniversary of his birth. I’ve thought about his legacy a lot in the face of this modern Trump travesty that has scarred the nation. Every time I bare witness to the extended Trump family who use public service as a means of private gain, I’m sickened. Over and over, I hear President John Kennedy’s beautiful words, “Ask not what your country can do for you, but what you can do for your country.” We need to invoke JFK’s words over and over to confront this national malady. I hope his legacy of a functioning American government by the people, for the people returns with a vengence once the great impostor Trump, and his mealy mouthed Congressional enablers are swept into the dust heap of ignoble grifters who bludgeoned the republic for personal gain.
