Oh, what fresh hell is this?
Six days after he said he’d stop discussing the baseless Seth Rich murder conspiracy theory, Sean Hannity is still at it
...
On Tuesday, Hannity’s website featured an article entitled, “Operation Fight With Fire #StandWithSean.” The piece, authored by right-wing radio personality Melanie Morgan and reposted from MediaEqualizer.com, claims that “conservatives stand together with #StoptheScalpings to push back against the attempt to silence those who dare to ask tough questions and pursue the truth. Sean Hannity, of Fox News, took it upon himself to delve deeper into a story, one that left many unanswered questions requiring further investigation.”
The piece goes on to repeat debunked talking points about intelligence officials claiming there’s no evidence of Trump-Russia collusion (they haven’t), and floats an idea Hannity has alluded to on his Fox News show — that if former DNC staffer Seth Rich was actually responsible for passing the DNC emails along to WikiLeaks, that means there wasn’t any collusion between the Trump campaign and Russia. (According to numerous reports, the FBI says there’s no evidence Rich was in contact with WikiLeaks.)
And yes, they seem to be going directly after Maddow in retaliation for the pull-out of advertisers on Hannity’s own show which prompted his very sudden “vacation” last week.
The conspiracy theory that murder DNC staffer Seth Rich is the “true hacker” has been bouncing around for bowls of RT and Sputnik news for months, pushed by Trump pal Roger Stone.
ROGER STONE: I think it's pretty established that the Russians did not hack the DNC. That's a falsehood. Craig Murray, who is a respected British diplomat, has come forward and admitted that he was handed the material on the Clinton campaign cheating to beat Bernie Sanders by an informant, a disgruntled employee at the Democratic National Committee. After Seth Rich, an employee of the DNC, was shot in the back three times on the streets of Washington at 3 a.m., Julian Assange posted a $25,000 reward for information regarding his murder. If that isn't a clear indication of who his source was, I don't know what is.
Ok, I mean the initial release of the first DNC emails only had cyrillic characters and urls in it’s metadata linking back to Russia, while Crowdstrike specifically identified the malware used for the intrusion as being previously used by FSB and the GRU. Crowdstrike found intruders were working 9-5 hours, based on Moscow Time — but sure, Seth Rich did it…
Yeah, even Fox News doesn’t believe that shit.
Fox News has removed a week-old story from its website that alleged ties between WikiLeaks and a Democratic National Committee staffer that was found murdered. The story failed to hold up under scrutiny
And as I said, they put Hannity on a forced vacation because he wouldn’t shut the frack up about Rich.
Fox News host Sean Hannity is taking an early vacation this week right as advertisers have started fleeing his show.
Hannity announced in his Twitter account Wednesday night that he was taking a “long” Memorial Day weekend starting on Thursday, and he insisted that it had nothing to do with the growing backlash against him for pushing the debunked conspiracy theory about the murder of slain DNC staffer Seth Rich.
“My ANNUAL Memorial Day long weekend starts NOW,” Hannity wrote. “Destroy Trump/Conservative media breathless coverage starts! Did Hannity do last show?”
So far, at least seven different advertisers have agreed to stop buying ads on his TV show, including Cars.com, USAA and Crowne Plaza Hotels.
And now… we have this.
Stop the Scalpings is targeting Maddow because she “has been the biggest purveyor of lies and propaganda in the media today,” Morgan writes. She goes on to allude to Maddow’s regular coverage of the Trump campaign’s shady dealings with Russia, which she dismisses as a conspiracy theory despite an active FBI investigation and the appointment of a special prosecutor.
“We will continue to announce the advertisers that finance these efforts and support these hosts who allow lies and conspiracy theories to permeate the airwaves,” she continues. “If Media Matters ceases these type of assaults, we will do the same… Until then, we will list every advertiser that supports hosts like Rachel Maddow, an outright liar, and someone who deceives the public and defames conservatives on a daily basis.”
Sniff! Smell that? Smells like TROLLS to me. And it’s fitting that they should be going after Rachel whose been doing a fantastic job of covering all the various minute details of the Trump’s extensive links to Russia. But she’s not making things up — she’s reporting what mainstream sources from the Wapo to NyTimes have reported.
Former FBI Director Comey said under oath there was an active investigation of Russia influencing our election — including the hacking — and links to the Trump campaign. When Trump tried to get DNI Coates and NSA head Rogers to counter Comey and claim there was “no evidence of links” they refused to do it. Roger has since announced to the NSA staff that “There is no question that we [meaning NSA] have evidence of election involvement and questionable contacts with the Russians.” There’s now a Special Prosecutor overseeing these investigations which are looking increasingly into Jared Kushner secret meetings with various shady Russian Intel operatives while he was technically still a private citizen.
And yet Hannity and his minions are all “Seth Rich. Seth Rich. Seth Rich!!?”
This is like Vince Foster all over again. And frankly, it’s disgusting.

And guess what? Spicey is baaAAck…
“On Friday, the president was having a great discussion at the G7 and someone from the BBC, and ultimately an incoming reporter for the New York Times retweeted that the president was being rude by disrespecting the Italian prime minister,” Spicer complained. “When in fact, you all in all of the meetings watched the president with that one earpiece that’s been used by all the other presidents… That’s just fake!”
Reporters in the room pushed back, however, by noting that the one reporter’s false tweet did not generate any stories at major newspapers and was quickly corrected.
“I was asked to give an example, and I did it,” a testy Spicer shot back.
So “Fake News” is when a reporter makes a mistake, then makes a correction and nobody even carries the original mistaken story? What?
