Missouri tea party Republican representative Mike Moon (R-Ash Grove) posted a video to his official Facebook page on Tuesday. In it, the salt of the earth Moon tells whoever follows the Ash Grove idiot’s social media presence about how he and other Republicans are attempting to repeal St. Louis’s “sanctuary city” law that stops employers from discriminating against women who have autonomy over their reproductive rights. Governor Eric Greitens has called a for a special session and Rep. Mike Moon is heeding the call.
Like any good career politician, when I get the call, I go back to work. God gave man dominion over animals. He allows us to raise them properly, care for them, and then process them for food so we can sustain life. And that’s what I’m doing here with this chicken.”
While Moon explains this to the camera, he literally grabs a chicken that is hung by its feet upside-down, and rips off its head. Literally, not figuratively. The video jumps to him cutting and prepping the dead chicken on a tree stump, reaching in to the deceased bird and pulling out its heart.
I think we need to get to the heart of the matter here. So today I’m filing a bill that will lead to the stopping of abortion in the state of Missouri, and I hope you’ll support it. So stay tuned for more details.
There’s something going on in Mr. Moon’s mind where this display of man proving dominion over animals by killing them for food is somehow connected to a woman’s right to choose what she does with her body.
Here’s what executive director of NARA Pro-Choice Missouri, Alison Dreith, said to the Missouri Times about the video:
“Whatever Mike Moon does with a chicken in the privacy of his home is his own business,” Dreith told the Missouri Times. “But we will not let him use the rights of women across Missouri as some kind of political prop. His call to ban abortion is disturbing and dangerous, no matter what he does with that chicken.”
Rep. Mike Moon isn’t the only Republican Looney Tune with poor-showmanship skills in Missouri, and he won’t be the last. I put the video below the fold because not everyone wants to watch a man kill a live animal, let alone a live animal for something other than food—which is what Rep. Mike Moon is doing.
