I know that very serious people say we shouldn’t pay attention to T___p, but rather focus on all the nefarious shit the R’s are pulling in the meanwhile, from enacting homophobic religious discrimination freedom laws to taking away healthcare from millions to terrorizing undocumented immigrants. And they’re right, but I’m sorry. I have outrage fatigue. I can’t even. T___p mockery is about all I’m up for right now.
Before I get to the mockery, however, there are a couple resources I’d like to share. Back when T___p was elected, there was a lot good advice on how to resist, and one piece of that advice was to pick an issue that was most important and focus on that in order to avoid getting spread too thin or burned out. I chose immigrant and refugee rights because I had taught immigrants (with and without documentation) for many years and I felt an obligation to my students even though I was no longer in the classroom to stand up for them.
I am starting as a teacher in a summer ESL program next week. One of the resources that was shared with us was the Cultural Orientation Resource Exchange web site. They also have a YouTube channel. If anyone is interested in learning more about the refugee experience, these videos are very good.

And I got this in an email last night — National Immigration Law Center. It is also a very good resource.
Now for the mockery.
