Is anyone else discouraged by the proliferation of new progressive groups in 2017? While I support the causes these each of these new groups represent, I don’t believe we need an ever-expanding plethora of liberal organizations. We need to focus and put our money and energy in groups that get things done.
As far as I can see, the conservatives have never had the ongoing growth in “causes” that seems to affect the left. Part of it is that they support ideology and we support actual causes. Still I think this is a problem. It also makes it harder for progressives to decide who will do the most with their donations.
I ask that groups consider merging together and forming alliances (along the lines of what the labor movement did many years ago). We badly need to pool resources so we can get the job done.
