A few weeks after the election I wrote a diary about gag reflex. I never published it. I researched the topic. There are many theories about managing the gag reflex, about suppressing it. To give you an idea where I was going with it …
According to the same study, moving the pressure you place on your thumb can have the same effects on the gag reflex. In fact, by shifting the placement of pressure on the hand, you can hold off the gag reflex and endure even deeper intrusion into the throat.
To which I replied:
What is does NOT claim is that the technique will work if the ‘intrusion’ into your throat is going to last FOUR FUCKING years.
Here, six months later, I find my sentiments unchanged. I agree with what I wrote.

One thing I have done to try to make things easier on myself with gag reflex, is to stop using his name, and simply say 45, instead. I’m not going to do that tonight.
I read a column by Leonard Pitts today. It appeared in my local paper, but the first link to it that I found in search was to the story in the Tuscon paper, so that’s the link here. Pitts asked, very simply, what is wrong with Trump.
I try to be open-minded about the columns, but Pitts had me struggling this time.
But for all that Trump has not achieved, there is, I think, one thing he indisputably has. He has taught us to live in a state of perpetual chaos and continuous crisis. Six months later, the White House commands the same horrified attention as a car wreck or a house fire.
Well, no. Car wrecks are common enough in our society, house fires, too, I am sorry to say. Yet, there has never been a car wreck that lasted six months, not even a chain-reaction car wreck. No house fire has come close to that, either. This is a different thing, ‘led’ by an individual who set new standards in what it means to be unqualified. And incompetent.
Pitts acknowledges that the next catastrophe will soon materialize, in its turn. And he follows it with a nice (and supremely well deserved!) rip at the GOP:
Besides which, a few days from now, there will be something else. With Trump, there inevitably is. Things can always get worse — and usually do.
And when they do, we can count on the GOP, that inexhaustible fount of righteous outrage, to stand tall and courageously look the other way. For almost 20 years, the party has never seen a minor episode (“Travelgate”), a sheer nothing (Whitewater) or even an international tragedy (Benghazi) it could not turn into Watergate II. Yet, as credible accusations of treason, obstruction, collusion, and corruption swirl about this White House, the GOP has been conspicuous in its acquiescent silence. It seems the elephant has laryngitis.
There, too, I must diverge. Hypocrisy is not laryngitis. And hypocrisy it is, in the most intense form I can recall in the political forum filled with it.
Pitts closes by changing the question to: what’s wrong with us?
I like another question better. It is a question I would like to see asked - day in and day out - by EVERY Democratic politician and pundit.
That question is:
How long is the Republican Party going to subject our people to the errors and stumblings of this supremely unqualified and incompetent president?

From Dixiecollie:
Nominating for Top Comments, this "comment" by Hadida in the diary by Hunter entitled "Fox News Host: Trump family has 'done more for this country than any Democratic elected leader.”
Apparently Hadida rightly took issue with that supposition. Hadida's response was a picture. There were no words, just a picture. But such a powerful picture making words unnecessary:veteran, hero, and double-amputee Senator Tammy Duckworth.
