What do you do when you’ve so overplayed the hand you never had that you’ve alienated Republicans on the Hill, the conservative press, and all your Cabinet heads? You find someone else to pick on because you’re just that small, that incompetent, and that desperate. Time to take on that great American worry: transgender service in the military.
Make no mistake, folks: the half-wit in the Oval Office has been outmaneuvered by his Attorney General Jeff Sessions, despite his aggressive week-long campaign to force one of his earliest and most loyal supporters out of his cabinet. What to do? The health care bill looks to be going down in flames; everyone in his orbit is either cooperating or being subpoenaed in multiple investigations scrutinizing all the Russia contacts he said never existed; a Russia sanctions bill is barreling toward his desk that’s really really going to piss off his bestie and possible employer/chieftain/owner Vlad; North Korean tyrant Kim Jong Un is running all over him like a cheap rug; and—worst of the absolute worst—the conservative media is turning on him. Trump’s got no juice. You can almost hear him yelling from the Oval—“Dammit, find me someone to kick around!” And then, there it was.
Here’s how they’ll respond: Where’s all that winning, where’s my f#@*ing health care buddy, where are the jobs you promised, and why you are re-upping the draft?
When the most incompetent pr*sident we have seen in at least half a century (if not all of American history) does absolutely zero to help the people he swindled into voting for him with the pledge that he “alone” could “fix it,” they’re not gonna give a damn who’s serving in the military or who’s coming across the border or any of that.
Sign our petition now to show your support for transgender servicemembers and denounce Trump for banning transgender people from military service.
They’re gonna wonder why their lives suck just as bad if not worse than when Trump took the oath of office. And even if that 35 percent sticks to Trump’s side like glue, he’s not going to win re-election with that—they can all just go down together in a blaze of glory in 2020, if Trump even makes it until then.
Because one thing is for sure: Trump is coming unmoored from his false anchor of self-greatness and he is unraveling, decompensating before our very eyes. And goddess willing, either the investigators or Congress or the Constitution or the People will save us. Because hubris will be the only thing left of Trump once he is done destroying any shred of a notion that he was skillful, knowledgable, or stood for anything but himself and his own aggrandizement. And I have to believe that, in the end, Lady Liberty will crush him in the name of all that’s just and good, if imperfect, about our country.
