The jobs report for June was stronger than expected. Guess what sector led that growth. Yep, the healthcare sector, adding 37,000 jobs. Combining healthcare and social services and the total job gains is more than 60,000 in the two combined.
Which means, once again, Obamacare is not—and hasn’t ever been—a job-killer.
Just a reminder, Trumpcare could mean the loss of 1.45 million jobs by 2026.
Every state except Hawaii would have fewer jobs and a weaker economy. Employment in health care would be especially hard hit with 919,000 fewer health jobs, but other employment sectors lose jobs too. Gross state products would be $162 billion lower in 2026. States that expanded Medicaid would be especially hard hit.
But by all means, Republicans, please proceed with taking away health insurance and jobs from millions of people. What could happen?
Senate Republicans are still talking Trumpcare, and plan to bring it back after July 4 recess. We absolutely MUST make sure they don’t have the votes. Keep calling your Republican senators at (202) 224-3121. Tell them “NO DEAL” on Trumpcare. Then, tell us how it went.
