You are hereby invited to a meetup in the picturesque Shenandoah Valley at our farm, RiverBank, on Saturday, July 22nd. Lunch will be served at noon, and we’re planning a relaxed day of conversation and recreation. We’ll hang out by the firepit as the sun goes down and watch the river. We have kayaks for the adventurous, frisbees are always welcome, poets get an appreciative hearing, the dogs love people, and our chickens (vicious little dinosaurs) will be on hand to provide entertainment. We have space if you want to camp beside the river or by the house. I can’t promise that it won’t be warm, but I can promise a good time. Gordon20024 is my fearless leader, so I’m filled with boundless confidence that it’s going to be great!
Some local candidates are going to be here, so there’ll be some business, some play. Families are welcome , too. I do have to ask you leave your dogs at home, though—my border collie Barkley can be a bit of a jerk around dogs he doesn’t know.
We are about two hours from everything—Washington DC, Richmond and Roanoke. One hour from Charlottesville. A half hour from Harrisonburg. The river’s in the back yard and the Blue Ridge is in the front, and we really like people. (Hey, I’ll even clean the house, so you can see what modern 18th century living is like!) If you’re can make it, please join us. Meet old friends, make some new ones. Let me know if you can come and I’ll message you with directions.
