I’m in the “get the old farts out” camp when it comes to the DNC and the general Democratic leadership in this country. That is why I don’t trust them to be proactive when it comes to the soon-approaching “post-Trump” era. If and when Pense becomes president (or some other Republican, if Pense is dragged down by stuff like being “lied to” by Flynn), do you think anyone in the DNC, et al. are preparing plans to repair the damage done to federal agencies, including their policies and funding?
And I don’t just mean in a functional sense, which is almost certainly the only thing the old farts are thinking about--if they are thinking about the issue at all, that is. I also mean in a political sense. The changing of the guard will be an excellent opportunity to KEEP SHOWING the country what Republican politicians really stand for: Profit-and-party-before-people.
And I do mean “SHOW,” as in “show, don’t tell” (the latter being the favored messaging “strategy” of the old fart brigade). Does every constituency need to be aware of the entire list (partially posted below) that WaPo produced showing policy rollbacks at federal agencies under Trump? Of course not. But do you think the old farts will remember/recognize the micro-targeting effectiveness that contributed to such great Republican accomplishments as Hillary’s demise, the near-death of the ACA and Obama, the Kenyan?
Hell, no. The partial list that follows should be marching orders for progressives to prepare to lambaste Republicans hard, fast and continuously and keep Pense (or whoever) on the defensive.
We MUST show, don’t tell, the populace what “R” really stands for (republican, racist and regressive, IMO)!
From The Washington Post (March, 2017):
A list of agencies and programs targeted for elimination is below, with one major caveat: Many other projects are likely on Trump's proposed chopping block, as the budget blueprint refers in several places to programs targeted for elimination without specifically naming them.
And there’s more. Go HERE to find them and see if/how they’ve been affected by Trump policies.(NOTE: I lost the original link. Sorry!)
