The White House released a press statement on plans to revamp the United States Cyber Command. It will be spun out into its own Unified Combatant Command. This will be the cyberwar arm of the military. The program was developed under the auspices of the NSA, but its primary directive is signal intelligence not combat, so it may eventually be removed from NSA’s oversight. www.whitehouse.gov/…
Politico published an article on the proposed changes.

The move is something that has been planned, the Obama Administration worked on it but didn’t approve the change. Trump promised to look at it and decided to do it. All of that seems pretty straightforward. This will simplify command, and also greatly enlarge personnel. We certainly learned with the last election that we are behind certain parties in this area.
And that brings me to what bothered me about the press statement:
Through United States Cyber Command, we will tackle our cyberspace challenges in coordination with like-minded allies and partners as we strive to respond rapidly to evolving cyberspace security threats and opportunities globally.
Since Putin and Nazis seem to be the only people on Trump’s list of like minded allies, just who are we going to be sharing our cyberspace warfare capabilities with?
I am not an expert in this field, maybe people who know more will take this topic.
