The closest thing to the pig bullet story told by President (SO SAD!) Trump was the Battle of Bud Dajo March 7, 1905 in the southern Philippines. After the suppression of the Philippine insurrection the US turned its attention to the Muslim Moros.
An ugly war ensued, pitting poorly armed Moro warriors against seasoned US Army regulars. The Moro weapon of choice was the kris, a short sword with a wavy blade; the Americans toted Springfield rifles and field guns. As in present-day Iraq, the Americans never lost an engagement. Yet even as they demolished one Moro stronghold after another and wracked up an impressive body count, the fighting persisted. The Moros remained incorrigible.
At Bud Dajo, a volcanic crater on the island of Jolo, things came to a head. In late 1905, hundreds of Moros â•„ determined to avoid paying a US-imposed head tax, which they considered blasphemous â•„ began taking refuge on the peak.
The “battle” by most observers was called the Moro Massacre. The best commentary on it was made by Mark Twain. The Filipinos had retreated to a volcanic crater with their families as a last stand. About 600 American troops attacked an equal number of natives.
General Wood was present and looking on. His order had been. "Kill or capture those savages." Apparently our little army considered that the "or" left them authorized to kill or capture according to taste, and that their taste had remained what it has been for eight years, in our army out there - the taste of Christian butchers.
He went on to describe how in many battles like Waterloo or in the Civil War casualties were high on both sides, but:
Contrast these things with the great statistics which have arrived from that Moro crater! There, with six hundred engaged on each side, we lost fifteen men killed outright, and we had thirty-two wounded-counting that nose and that elbow. The enemy numbered six hundred -- including women and children -- and we abolished them utterly, leaving not even a baby alive to cry for its dead mother. This is incomparably the greatest victory that was ever achieved by the Christian soldiers of the United States.
There was no Radical Islamic Terrorist left to send back to tell a tale of woe. The photo was good enough.
This is what Donald aims for massacre and genocide. Every day in every way he disgraces our country.
