Okay. So the moral black hole in the White House did what we all knew he was going to do. He pardoned a bitter, hateful old bigot who had been found guilty of contempt of court.
Good ol’ Sheriff Joe might regret this, though. By accepting the pardon he has admitted guilt. Which means that for the rest of his life he is going to be tied up in civil suits.
However, my question is along the lines of the Mueller investigation. By pardoning Arpaio, has Trump signalled his willingness to pardon anybody, and thus removed a lot of leverage from Mueller’s hands?
I see the conversation going like this:
Mueller (looking very sinister): Flip on Trump, or you’re going to the big house, low-grade lackey!
LGL: HAHAHA. You do not frighten me, G-Man! My glorious leader will protect me with a pardon! Do your worst!
Mueller: *Looks sad*
