Yesterday afternoon, I sent a short message to the Daily Kos email list about the tragedy in east Texas. It listed some local charities that I thought our email list subscribers might be interested in supporting to help aid the recovery. (I also posted a short diary about it here.)
Not to get all internet cliche on you, but I couldn’t believe what happened next: The Daily Kos community chipped in an amazing $382,938.46 for charities helping with the recovery effort in East Texas in just 24 hours.
I am constantly surprised and honored to work at Daily Kos and be a part of this community. But you all really outdid yourselves this time. Thank you all for everything you did.
And if you haven’t chipped in yet but would like to, you can do so here.
