Yep, the guy from Ohio who many people thought should replace “inside player” (his words) Pelosi is joining with Republicans and trying to make the world a better place for the really really wealthy.
“To be competitive globally, we have to reduce the corporate tax rate,” Ryan told The Hill in an interview from his Youngstown, Ohio, district office. “We’re just not competitive globally because of that."
snip….
"We can’t just be the party of redistribution of wealth; we need to be the party of the creation of wealth in communities all over the country, not to just Silicon Valley, not just Wall Street, but all over."
snip….
Though Ryan says he’s confident Democrats can take back the House in 2018, he insists a pro-business message will be key.
So Ohio white guy supposedly representing the economically anxious midwest white guys, most of whom voted for Trump, is supporting Republican trickle down economic policy.
Republicans are loving this!
“We thank Congressman Tim Ryan for expressing a willingness to work with conservatives to get tax reform done,” he said in a statement announcing the ad. “We hope this is the beginning of bipartisan tax relief because the American people deserve nothing less.”
While Ryan pays lip service to the less wealthy, mentioning expansion of the EITC and some deductions, he’s proud as hell of his pro-business, pro-corporate position on tax cuts.
Meanwhile, said “inside player” and “establishment” Pelosi said this about corporate tax cuts (from the first linked article):
“Instead of offering the American people a plan for real, job-creating tax reform, President Trump is pushing a billionaires-first, trickle-down tax scheme that hands out massive tax cuts to the wealthiest, at the expense of American families," Pelosi said in the statement.
I know whom I think is the real Democrat of these two.
