Received this email yesterday from Attorney and Veteran Adam Cote’s (D, ME) gubernatorial campaign:
Friends,
Once again, Governor LePage has failed to seize an opportunity to strengthen Maine’s economy and create good jobs we need in Maine.
After the Governor bullied the Maine legislature, they narrowly voted to uphold his veto of a bill that would have helped grow our solar energy industry.
This is a huge loss for Maine and one of the clearest examples of the need for new leadership and change in Augusta.
Neighboring states like Massachusetts, Vermont and New Hampshire have thousands of strong, good paying solar jobs -- from plumbers and electricians to engineers and other professionals. But Maine, because of the lack of support from Governor LePage and the power of special interests, has only a few hundred solar jobs.
We need a leader who will not only see the opportunity to bring thousands of new jobs to the state but also the potential to boost our economy.
Add your name and let people know Maine needs a governor like Adam who will grow solar and renewable energy jobs.
Adam has over 16 years of renewable energy experience. He was recognized by President Obama's White House in 2013 as a "Champion of Change" for his efforts as a "veteran working to advance clean energy and climate security." Just this past spring, he helped Kennebunk complete a deal to build one of the state's largest solar installations.
Maine can lead on renewable energy and create good jobs across the state — if we elect a governor like Adam who understands how to make it happen.
Bullying legislators into turning away much needed jobs for our state is the wrong move. Add your name and let people know you want a governor who will stand up for a strong Maine economy.
Thanks,
Team Cote
