David Corn and Mike Isikoff, two of the strongest investigative reporters in the business, wrote “Hubris: The Inside Story of Spin, Scandal, and the Selling of the Iraq War,” in 2006, a best seller. They then went of in different directions, Corn to Mother Jones and Isikoff as chief investigative reporter for Yahoo. Well, they are coming back together to write a “biography” of the Russian efforts to influence the election and Trump’s decades-long relationship with the Russians. It will also chronicle a number of parts of the relationship between the two countries.
I believe that this is a very big deal. First, their book project will be a “magnet” for dozens or even hundreds of people with pretty well verifiable stories to tell about Trump. Second, this will likely be completed after much of Mueller’s work is completed. Third, these are two very smart, very clever, and very well respected investigative reporters. Fourth, the amount of new information coming out on Trump/Russia is picking up steam, giving them wondrous raw material. Isikoff, in particular, is extremely impressive:
From July 2010 to April 2014, Isikoff was the national investigative correspondent for NBC News.[2] He resigned from NBC, citing the network's move in a direction that left him with "fewer opportunities" for his work.[3] He had previously worked for Newsweek, which he joined as an investigative correspondent in June 1994, and wrote extensively on the U.S. government's War on Terrorism, the Abu Ghraib torture and prisoner abuse, campaign finance and congressional ethics abuses, presidential politics and other national issues.
My only question: Who will play Isikoff and Corn in “All the President’s Men, V 2.0?”
