As a part of the grounds of the Maryhill Hill Museum of Art is an interesting feature known as a site specific interpretive sculpture which serves as an information kiosk.
According to the Museum:
“A traditional kiosk serves only as a support for posters and perhaps a bulletin board. Since Maryhill is a museum of art, we wanted our kiosk to engage your mind and senses, as well as provide you with information. To do that we replaced the traditional kiosk structure with a sculpture and made the interpretive panels (posters) its satellites.”
In walking through this interpretive sculpture, visitors encounter not only the spaces created by the massive concrete sculpture—plazas, windows, etc.—but also the natural landscape of the river, vegetation, and surrounding hills.
Interpretive Panels
According to the Museum display:
“The interpretive panels expand that heightened sense even further by presenting more vistas and a greater understanding of what is special about this part of the world.”
