As retirement nears, people look for a place to land. Like many couples, my wife and I have searched for a place that fits. Somewhere in the U.S. Sunbelt? Costa Rica? Ecuador? We weren’t sure. Then we heard about a place that seemed too good to be true.
Nambia. Yes, that’s right, Nambia is now the hottest place to enjoy the retired life. Few Americans have heard of it and couldn’t find it on a map. As a result, the deals are truly unbelievable.
And it gets better. The government in Nambia really blends into the background, so taxes are virtually nonexistent. It seems like most American retirees can easily live like kings in Nambia.
By coincidence, we were recently contacted by a Nambian official via email. His message touted his country’s “once in a lifetime” financial opportunities. We were excited and took the opportunity to ask a few questions. The official — apparently the name Sergei is common there — was refreshingly prompt in his responses.
Us: We’re looking to retire in Nambia, are there any restrictions on foreign retirees?
Sergei: Retirement to beautiful Nambia is most possible. Just to be providing us with bank account and social security numbers and can begin!
Us: Can you recommend a real estate firm in Nambia to act as our agent?
Sergei: Is easily done. Only need bank numbers for down payments. Send now.
Us: President Trump recently welcomed diplomats from your country and spoke of the great ties between our two nations. Are there many Americans in Nambia?
Sergei: Yes, we do many Americans.
We still have some questions but this exchange really got us excited. While Nambia may seem too good to be true, as we learned while getting online degrees from Trump University, sometimes you just have to overrule your brain and go with your gut.
Maybe Trump will be joining us soon!
