Not sure why this didn’t cause a bigger stir in the media than it did when it was released, but there’s a lot here to unravel: (Boston Globe article)
- An armed IRS criminal-investigation agent offers a ride in his government-issued vehicle to the train station to a college-student intern after a post-work social event
- During the ride he allegedly sexually assaulted the intern, including putting his gun in her mouth
- The intern called 911 immediately after the event, and the gun and the car were seized the next day
- The agent remains an active employee, although he is no long able to carry a gun or drive a government car
- The Boston police and district attorney, who are responsible for the criminal investigation, seem to be dragging their feet. The even occurred in July, but no charges have yet been filed.
Maybe charges will be filed. Maybe there will be a proper accounting. But by no means should this be swept under the rug.
