Earlier this week, a friend told me that Donald Trump is inviting a donor to have dinner with him at his fancy Mar-a-Lago golf club in Florida.
As you may recall, Mar-a-Lago is the same place Donald Trump celebrated after signing Paul Ryan's tax scam bill by toasting all of his wealthy guests and cheering, "You all just got a lot richer!"
It got me thinking. I don't have a lot of rich friends or a fancy golf club -- but I do know a good bar on Main Street in Racine that serves up a tasty burger alongside some ice-cold Milwaukee brews. The company is pretty solid, too: working men and women like me and you.
So here's the deal I'll make you: Chip in $3 or whatever you can before the anniversary of Donald Trump's inauguration, and you'll be automatically entered into a contest to grab dinner and a beer with me right on Main Street.
I know most Americans are working harder and harder for less and less. I know it from my own experience and from the stories I hear at the bar from my friends, coworkers, and neighbors. Folks like us don't have hundreds of thousands of dollars to go be members of fancy clubs and lobby politicians. If you're like me, you know that going out to dinner at all is a special treat.
So if you win, the campaign will pick up the bar tab and even cover your airfare and your hotel.
When you arrive, I'll have the barstool next to me reserved just for you. I'll show you my favorite beers on tap, give you some tips on the menu, and then have a conversation with you about what you'd like Congress to do for you and your family after we repeal and replace Paul Ryan.
Just chip in whatever you can by January 20 and you'll be automatically entered in the contest to join me at one of my favorite Wisconsin bars.
Thanks,
Randy Bryce
