Over the first week of the New Year there hasn’t been a ton of new reports or news involving the Russia investigation other than various escalating partisan claims and charges going back and forth, particularly the re-opening of investigations into the Clinton Foundation and Emails and GOPers calling for a criminal indictment against former MI-6 Agent Christopher Steele — although such actions just might cause Mueller to indict Devin Nunes, Chuck Grassley and members of Congress for obstruction and witness intimidation — they are clearly intended to pummel the opposition as the Trump administration grows closer and closer to a standing eight-count from their own corruption and incompetence.
Democrats have been growing increasing angry and combative over Republican obstruction and diversion leading Senate Judiciary Ranking member Diane Feinstein to take the almost unprecedented action of unilaterally releasing the interview transcripts of Fusion GPS co-founder Glenn Simpson to the public. Most of which confirms the claims made by Simpson in his recent Op-Ed that many GOP conspiracy theories about Chris Steele and his dossier are completely false. The content was not directed by the Hillary campaign or the DNC, it was Simpon’s own request to hire Steele to investigate why Trump had made so many trips to Russia without actually doing any financial deals with them. He testified they were all taken aback with what Steele discovered and didn’t try to manipulate his findings. It was Steele’s decision to take the information to the FBI largely on his own, and that even when he did he discovered that they were already investigating similar claims which they had received from Australia about George Papadopoulos as well as intercepts coming from GCHQ and the CIA.
Trump on the other hand remains in total denial mode claiming that there was “No collusion, no collusion, no collusion” [despite the two guilty pleas for Papadopoulos and Flynn for lying about communicating with and trying to collude with Russia], that it was “possibly illegal” for Feinstein to release the Simpson interview transcript [it really wasn’t], stating that there is probably little need for Trump to be interviewed by the Mueller investigation [Yeah, there is], claiming that the entire Russia Hack Story is a “hoax created by Democrats to excuse losing the election” [even though Hillary still won the popular vote , two foreign hackers have already plead guilty to the attacks and also confessed it was orchestrated by Russian Intelligence and also the GRU — Russian Military Intelligence — appears to be now trying hack into the Senate’s emails system in preparation for 2018 elections], he said that FBI Agent Peter Strzok “was treasonous” to have text criticized him during the 2016 election [When it’s really not and he also criticized Bernie Sanders, Martin O’Malley and Chelsea Clinton so what was that then?] and saying that we need to “strengthen the libel laws” [which are controlled by the States and SCOTUS, not Congress] after Michael Wolff’s book Fire and Fury suggests that many people in the White House question his stability and privately toss him under the spinning wheels of a speeding school bus when he’s not within earshot.
Meanwhile Trump himself has already been sued for defamation and sexual harassment by Apprentice contestant Summer Zervos, and new allegations are that his attorney Michael Cohen paid porn star Stormy Daniels $130k in hush money over a one-night-stand with Trump in 2006, the same year as the Access Hollywood “pussy grab” tape. Cohen has of course denied this and says that Daniels denies it too [Shocker!] he even produces a document signed by Daniels denying the affair, except that it’s literally signed “Stormy Daniels” and as a binding legal document it should have been signed Stephanie Clifford because that’s her actual name. And then Daniels friend Alana Evans has stated that Daniels called her during the encounter with Trump, and that he invited her to join them for a three-some. Apparently Cohen’s check to Evans didn’t clear or got lost in the mail.
The pressure of all this is clearly showing on Trump’s general behavior as this week he setup a bipartisan meeting on fixing DACA and improving border security, but when Dems and Republicans came together the next day with a proposal he exploded because it extended a Temporary Visa program for refugees from the Haiti and El Salvadorian earthquakes by saying “Why are we accepting people from ShitHole Countries [like those and also Africa]? “Why can’t we have more people from Norway?” This prompted Columbia professor James McWhorter to state Trump doesn’t have the forethought of his three-year-old, his cat, a fork, knife and a spoon.
Besides the fact that people in Norway already have a far higher standard and quality of living than people in the U.S include free universal healthcare [so why would they even want come here?] — the clear bigotry and racism of Trump’s statement has left many enraged, aghast and appalled. Except for GOPers who have nothing but excuses and rationalizations for it not being “Racist, but Economical.” Although when you basically say you don't want people from certain countries because they’re inherently “Poor, Stupid and Lazy” — it’s still pretty much still a racial, bigoted and elitist position by definition. It’s as if only people who can afford to join Trump’s private Mar-A-Lago club should be allowed into the country, which would exclude his own mother because she was a dirt-poor farmer from Scotland who immigrated to New York to work as a domestic servant and his grand-father who was a barber who was kicked out of Germany for being a draft dodger. And oh by the way, Trump has actually increased the H2B Visa limit for low-skilled workers from 66k to 81k over the past year while Mar-A-Lago has increased it request for such workers from 60 to over 70 and many of those workers happen to come from Haiti. So it’s just fine if people from Shithole Countries are here to be his housekeeper and maid, but not if they’re here to escape devastation and destitution in a disaster area.
And while this all occurred Steve Bannon who was fired from Breitbart for his revelations in Fire and Fury has hired Reince Preibus’ and Don McGhan’s lawyer to represent him prior to being interviewed by Mueller, and although his criticism of Don Jr. meeting Veselnitskaya in the Trump Tower to gather dirt on Hillary Clinton was fairly harsh the fact is that he himself wasn’t even there and that he only attended one Russia related meeting with Kushner, Flynn and the Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi during the Transition.
And also Senate Intelligence has finally started to schedule an interview with Jared Kushner the clown prince of nepotism.

Daily Caller claims that Huma Abedine had emailed passwords for her secure laptop systems to herself — although she used 2 step authentication and the passwords would only work when attached to the secure network — on a Yahoo account all of which were hacked by the FSB, but that doesn't mean they found this one single email among 10 Billion users, or could use the passwords. Trump calls for her and Comey to be jailed for “exposing classified data to foreign agents” — which isn’t how the law works, it has to be intentional and done for the deliberate benefit of a foreign nation. Y’know like when Trump himself told Lavrov and Kislyak code word classified information from an Israeli spy about how ISIL planned to bomb planes with laptops.

NYPost reports than an insider within the court says that the Mueller Grand Jury “Looks like central casting, or a Black LIves Matter Rally in Berkeley, CA.” Thinkprogress points out that this terminology “central casting” sounds exactly like Trump himself.

Trump takes credit for a lack of airline deaths — which has been the case since 2013 when an Asiana Airlines flight struck a sea wall killing 3 people, and the last fatality from a domestic Airline was in 2009, so really Obama should have taken credit but he wasn’t a self-aggrandizing dickhead.

Politico Magazine reports that Shadow Secretary of State Kushner has little interest in maintaining long-standing U.S. alliances, especially in Western Europe. “He told me, ‘I’m a businessman, and I don’t care about the past. Old allies can be enemies, or enemies can be friends,’ so the past doesn’t count,” one official told the magazine. “I was taken aback. It was frightening.”

NYTimes publishes a study on how Fake News spreads selectively through the public. “On 289 such sites, about 80 percent of bogus articles supported Trump,” the Times quoted the study. In fact, the far-right (approximately 10 percent of the sample) made up roughly 65 percent of visits to sites that published more than two stories that were false. Trump supporters were three times more likely to read such sites over supporters of Hillary Clinton.

Fusion GPS Co-founders Peter Fritsh and Glenn Simpson write an OP-ed to bash the House GOP for not releasing the transcripts of their interviews where they claim they debunked GOP conspiracy theories that Hillary Clinton paid Chris Steele to create a “fake dossier.” Steele wasn’t even aware of who was funding them, and when he turned his data over too the FBI it actually coorberated some information they already had, such as the fact that Carter Page had travelled to Russia and met major members of the Russian government and Rosneft, Papadopoulos bragging about the Russians having dirt on Clinton had already been given to them by the Australians and NSA intercept had caught the GRU saying that Manafort had been asking Russia for help in their campaign.

- Huckabee-Sanders goes into full bore defense mode claiming the Wolff’s book Fire and Fury is nothing more than Gossip, saying that he was wrong about minor details about Trump knowng who John Boehner is because they’ve been golfing together [which was after he entered the WH, not before], and he was repeatedly refused access and never interviewed Trump. She also suggests Bannon should be fired by Breitbart [just as she's previously suggested Jamile Hill should have been fired and supported firing NFL players who kneel during the anthem — something that got her into ethic problems before.]

They report that a staffer of Sessions apparently questioned a congressional aid whether they could find damaging material on Comey, claiming Sessions wants “one negative story per day” released to undercut Comey’s credibility. DOJ spokespersons deny this allegation.

And he tells the Today show, despite Huckabee-Sanders denials, that he did speak with and interview Trump directly. He says that Trump keeps repeating the same stories and anecdotes more and more rapidly as if he doesn't know he just said them. “He’s lost it” according to Bannon. Also he asked “Where do I send the box of chocolates?” to thank Trump for making his book a best seller. [1900 Pennsylvania Ave, I would think.]

- Richard Painter shuts down Ken Cuccineli when he claims Sessions didn’t need to recuse himself from an investigation of a campaign that he was a part of “Wrong, That’s just wrong!” The Cooch argues that Sessions didn’t need to recuse himself from the counter-intelligence portion of the investigation, and that’s true and in fact he’s not recused from that since it’s happening outside of Mueller and has gained guilty pleas from Hackers directed by the FSB, but Painter points out this is also a criminal investigation as well.
- Former Trump aide Sam Nunberg — who had tried to teach him the constitution and couldn’t get past the 4th Amendment and was later fired — tells Joy Ann Reid that he probably did call Trump an “Idiot”, although Trump had probably called him worse, and that he’s a “pain in the ass to work for. He’s terrible to work for”, although he still thinks he’s fit to serve. [Huh??!!] He also says he likes Michael Wolff, he just feels he gets some things a little out of context.

- Former Federal Prosecutor Seth Waxman tell MSNBC that the GOP’s new Clinton witch-hunts are more examples of a case of conspiracy for Mueller, more than obstruction.

Federal Judge rules against Trump’s move to end DACA, Huckabee-Sanders responds saying it’s “outrageous” showing she really hasn’t read Marbury v Madison lately. Trump says it’s “Unfair” and our courts are “Broken” — showing he really don’t know much about the separation of powers.
-
Trump rants that “Sneaky Feinstein” releasing the Fusion GPS transcript is “possibly illegal” [Which it’s not, anymore than Devin Nunes, or possibly Jason Chaffetz, releasing the Comey letter about Abedine’s emails was illegal.] He again says “there’s no evidence of collusion” although Simpson’s testimony shows that the dossier confirmed reports from other intel services about contacts and info sharing between the Trump campaign and Russia — which is what Papadopoulos lied to the FBI about — he also says Republicans should “take control” of the investigation. Grassley says he doesn’t know, and doesn’t want to know what Trump means by that.

Trump gives a rambling self-congratulatory announcement to the press before his Cabinet meeting giving himself credit for bringing African-American unemployment to it’s lowest level in decades — which had nothing to do with him — he praises the media for saying nice things about his immigration meeting yesterday for 2 hours — and how exactly would he know that? — saying that he’s going to “open up health care to cross-state associations” — which isn't going to work if the providers don’t already have networks in those states — and that’s he’s going to “tighten up libel laws” to make it easier to sue people for defamation, which is ironic since he’s already being sued for defamation by Summer Zervos, and his own lawyers say that his repeated slander of her is “protected free speech.” He takes no questions.

-
Kellyanne Conway gives her usual bonkers interview with Chris Cuomo claiming “Nobody here talks about Clinton” who still isn’t the President while complaining that CNN doesn't talk about Clinton enough. Trump says he probably won’t be interviewed by Mueller because “there’s no collusion, all the democrats say there’s no collusion...” except they don’t. They say they seen many attempts at collusion, but not that they’ve seen evidence it succeeded. Besides that a conspiracy to accept materials stolen by cyber fraud, the corruption of rewarding the thieves by gutting sanctions then covering it up with obstruction doesn’t take “collusion” — but all of it is illegal. Then he goes on to tweet/rant about the “Disproven Dossier” and “Crooked Hillary” and yadda yadda yadda...

Steve Bannon lawyers up in preparation for an interview with House intel, by hiring the same attorney, Bill Burck, that represents Reince Preibus. Some speculate that he’ll turn on Trump, but he’s still been largely loyal despite his statements to Michael Wolff about Kushner and Junior — plus those events occurred before his participation. He himself only attended one questionable meeting tangentially involving Russia with the Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi in December 2016 along side Kushner and Flynn.
-
Oleg Derapaska sues Manafort and Gates for fraud, gross negligence, disloyalty and self-dealing regarding the Ukrainian telecom company Black Sea Cable that he had worked with them to purchase, but they disappeared with the money. He had sued over this before, but then dropped the suit during the 2016 campaign while Manafort used Kilimnik to negotiate with him while trying to “get whole.” Derapaska’s evidence is the financial details contained in Mueller’s indictment.
-
Judge Napolitano who still harbors the conspiracy theory that Trump was wiretapped by Obama goes on Fox News to complain about the reauthorization of FISA asking why Trump would support a feature that was used against him — then Trump tweets complaining about FISA, even though the House is looking at an entirely different portion of the bill than what Napolitano was talking about, and it was perfectly legitimate to issue FISA Warrants against Manafort and Carter Page. Several hours later he tweets again in support of FISA apparently after Speaker Ryan calls him up and sets him straight.

-
Trump accuses FBI Agent Peter Strzok of “Treason” for the insults he texted to his girlfriend about him before the election — although Treason requires knowingly betraying your nation to another country for their benefit during a time of war, kinda like dropping and refusing to enforce sanctions against a country that has illegally invaded and occupied an ally nation.

Cohen denies this and says Clifford denies it too — which of course is the point of the pay off isn’t it? — but he doesn’t provide any contact info for her. Trump declares “I am not a racist, I am the least racist person you’ve ever interviewed” to reporters in Florida which really doesn’t explain why he keeps going out of his way to make racist people like him, then he goes golfing again. Ivana tries to explain saying “he’s not racist, he just say silly things because he gets confused” — which is way better. Or not. Bloomberg reports that starting in the late 90’s ownership of a Chromium Mine in Kazahkstan may have been an elaborate money laundering scheme that shifted funds from their employees, who were forced to sell their shares to a shell company in the British Virgin Islands, into the hands of Trump properties such as Trump Soho through Refik Arif and his brother Terif who is the owner of Bayrock LLC. More funds came also from Mukhtar Ablyazov the former head of a Kazahkstan’s BTA Bank who also embezzled over $2 Billion by shady loans to himself via shell companies he himself created and bought three condos in Trump Soho through his family and son-in-law Iliyas Khrapunov, who’d had previous deals with Bayrock’s Felix Sater, and a Troika of metals billionaires including Alexander Mashkevich and his two partners —Patokh Chodiev and Alijan Ibragimov — who also supplied Bayrock with cash through their holding company Eurasian Natural Resources Corporation Plc, (ENRC) which was forced off the European Stock Exchange by England Serious Fraud Office due to their rampant corruption. All of this is apparently now part of Mueller’s investigation into money-laundering associated with Trump properties.

Jake Tapper interviews Dick Durbin and he sticks to his guns about what was said in the immigration meeting saying that Trump apparently went on rambling about the subject for 30 mins. He also states that Lindsey Graham had responded directly in the moment and challenged Trump saying “America is not about where you come from, my own family came from Shithole countries…”. He essentially blows off Cotton and Purdue’s new excuse that he said “Shithouse” instead of “Shithole” as if that makes any real difference. “Is that their defense?”
-
Wapo Reports that WH Chief of Staff John Kelly had advised Trump to reject the bipartisan DACA deal last week arguing that it would be “bad for his agenda.” [It would get the Deplorables upset!] He’s apparently the one who made the case against TPS using his own prior experience as DHS Secretary. They also report that when Durbin suggested that Trump talk to the Congressional Black Caucus to get their buy in on the deal — particularly considering his comments on Africa — he blew him off with “You’ve got to be joking?”

Steve Bannon who is scheduled to meet with House Intel today is subpoenaed by Mueller to appear before his Grand Jury. Huckabee-Sanders tells Fox and Fools that reporters critical of Trump will “have a change of heart and give him positive press when they see their tax cut” — because of course journalistic integrity is entirely fungible depending on how big your bribe is in Trumpland. DOJ publishes a misleading ten page report that claims Immigration is linked to Terrorism giving examples of 542 people convicted of terrorists act, claiming 402 of them were “foreign born”. However many of them were convicted of actions overseas and extradited to the U.S. so “immigration” isn’t always a factor. Neo-Nazis, the Klan, Sovereign Citizens and anti-Abortion groups aren't included in the report, even if they are “foreign born” which means that even a Canadian Neo-Nazi wouldn’t be considered a “Domestic Terrorist”. SPLC researchers have found that there have been twice as many incidents of White Domestic Terrorism in the U.S. since 2008 than Islamic Terror. The Intercept reports that this document was generated to bolster Trump retrograde immigration policies.

Huckabee-Sanders suggests that Trump “can’t be racist” because he gave money to Democrats and used to be on The Apprentice — “Why did NBC give him a show?” [Well, it’s not like he wears “I’m a Racist” tattooed on his forehead and you could also ask why someone gave Harvey Weinstein a movie studio?] Plus since there are allegedly behind-the-scenes Apprentice tapes of him saying “have you ever fucked N*gger pussy?” — I think Sarah should be ix-nay on the Prentice-Aay.

Homeland Secretary Kiersten Neilsen Testifies before Senate Judiciary:
-
Sen. Durbin grills DHS Secretary Neilsen during a Senate Hearing, who was John Kelly’s former deputy and was also in the DACA meeting about what was said and the general policy position the Administration, she proclaims she “doesn’t recall” what was said exactly, but that “tough language” was used by both Trump and others. [I would gather she means when Graham repeated Trump’s own words back to him, and her term “Tough Language” also happens to match Trump’s defensive tweet about it which was written by Kelly], but that resolution to the DACA issue continues to require additional Border Security funds. She claims that Trump only brought up Norway because he had just recently met with their prime minister, Durbin counters that “being from Norway is not a skill.”
-
Sen. Lindsey Graham says during questioning of Sec. Neilsen that this is becoming a “Shitshow” and questions how Trump went from “this is a bill of Love” to Haiti and El Salvador are “shithole countries.” He argues that we need to get to a deal that fixes DACA, secures our border and encourages merit based immigration that will discourage people from “cheating” by entering without documentation. [Which is BS because there is no legal path for poor blue color workers without corporate sponsorship via H2A/H2B Visas]. “We need to get this deal done.” He says to reporters that Trump will not be well served by staffers [Kelly!!!] “who have an irrational view of how to get immigration done.”
-
Sen. Kamala Harris directly challenges Homeland Secretary Nielsen’s competence when she says “she doesn't know if Norway is predominantly white”, points out that she failed to mention the threat of White Domestic Terrorism, and questions how DHS has begun targeting individuals with no criminal history by an increase of 3x, and claims DACA recipients “aren’t a priority for removal” except that their already being removed and she wasn’t aware thousands of them have already lost their status.
-
Sen. Cory Booker blasts Nielsen for claiming “she doesn’t remember” what Trump said, yet somehow she remembers with Sen Graham said in response, then lists all the racists remarks recently made by Trump and White Supremacist Terror attacks. She also admits she’s never met a “self identified” DACA recipient face to face.

AP reports that Bannon’s Lawyer Bill Burk was in real-time contact with the WH during his House intel interview and followed their instructions to have him refuse to answer any questions about his time during the transition and within the administration. -
Corey Lewandowski is interviewed by House intel and he also refuses to answer questions — even though he was never a WH employee — claiming that he “isn't prepared” to discuss anything after he left the campaign. Which was like — when he was working for CNN and still being paid by Trump on the side? He was still there when Papadopoulos was dealing with the Russians and sending him status reports about it, even though he was gone by the time Carter Page went to Russia [ikely in Trump’s stead] on his own orders.

And also again that might disappoint his dad since he’s now a “Terror Booster” in order to keep control of Congress.

Newsweek reports that the Nunes memo alleges that the FBI and DOJ didn’t inform the FISA court that they were using information from Chris Steele memo when they requested a warrant on Carter Page. The main problem with this theory is that the FISA Warrant on Page was first requested in May, [Note: It wasn’t officially approved until October on the third application.] while Steele’s first memo wasn’t written until June — so the fact they didn’t mention Steele’s memo is because it hadn’t been written yet and the reason they wanted the warrant was because they thought Page might be a Russian agent. Also the reason to extend the warrant is the same as the reason to authorize the warrant in the first place regardless of the Steele dossier.
