Now that we’re beginning to see that the depth of Trump’s moral abyss is fathomless, what is the actual religious sect of his followers? The greed, wanton cruelty, bigotry, gangsterism, pedophilia, solicitation of prostitution, pathological lying, defines a moral code that if I had to guess, would fit the dogma and life style of Satanism rather than Christianity. Why are his supporters even called Christians? They fill their hearts with hatred rather than love. Who says one must call a deluded person by the name he or she chooses rather than by the one suggested by their behavior or the leader they bow down to? I’m just curious. I’m not suggesting that we can’t have compassion for these folks. I’m simply curious about whether horrible people should be called saints just because they prefer that label.
In previous discussions, Evangelical Christians on this site have taken issue with critics who have tended to look at all whites belonging to that denomination as part of the Trump problem. Why not divide up the two? Call the 80% of White Evangelical Christians who still support Trump a Satanic Cult, which appears to be more descriptive of their belief system. And then reserve “Evangelical Christianity” for the progressives. Or maybe this is a bad idea. Or maybe no one wants to rock the boat.
