Yesterday there was four competitive special elections and we managed the first flip of 2018! Hurray for Senator Elect Patty Schauchter and the Wisconsin Democratic Party! Wins sure taste good. But three other candidates did a tremendous effort in very red districts and continued the trend of democrats doing well in special elections. See table below!

There was also a special election SC-HD28, a district that voted 32,5% for Clinton, where the republican ran unopposed. Yesterdays results show that in the present environment, we should never let them run unopposed. Patty showed that a 17 point swing is possible! We should take the fight to them everywhere.
So even though the win is extra sweet, we should also remember the effort and personal sacrifice of Cindy Boatwright, Rita DeJoung and Dennis Degenhardt that were willing to run in very red districts. They offered their time, energy and accepted the strain of running for office against the forces of evil, and in that gave the voters a choice. They also made sure that voters in very red districts heard the arguments from our side, our solutions and just basically heard from the democratic party. This is how we move the nation to the left. One voter at the time.
What’s next?
So… what’s next? There are several special elections coming up! You can find a fantastic list of all coming special elections in this diary by Glenn Magus Harvey.
I have made a table of the elections coming up in February. I hope you will consider sending our democratic candidates a few dollars. Even a small donation goes a very long way in state legislative elections. They are bringing the fight deep into enemy territory and building a network, infrastructure, databases and GOTV there can really win these elections. These are really red districts, but we don’t know how big a swing we can get from just actively fighting for their vote.
If you can not afford to donate to them, a way you can help them for free is to follow them on social media, and like, comment and share their posts. That helps spread their message to hundreds more voters! I explain how and why in this diary.
*D-16 is the Clinton vote in the district in 2016.
If anyone have information that can help fill out this table even more, let me know!
You can really help these candidates reach out to more voters by spreading their posts in social media. But chipping in, would be awesome!
Also! We have the first special election to the US House in March:
